Why should I use data APIs

Using our data APIs is a great way to add an additional automated check into your processes and help you be sure funds have hit your account before shipping products to your customers.

Once you've connected your bank account using data APIs, we will run regular checks comparing the payments received into your bank account against the payment statuses which we received from the bank, removing the need for you to manually sift through your bank statements. This double check will flag any rare instances where there is a mismatch:

  1. The bank told us a payment was completed, but it was since reversed or there was an error processing the payment
  2. The bank told us the payment hadn't been completed yet, but actually the money has arrived in your account

It can also be used as confirmation that the payment has arrived.

To understand what you'll see from these checks, please check the guide: How can I use data APIs to double check my transactions?

Are there any limitations?

Whilst a powerful feature, there are a couple of limitations to be aware of

  1. In order to use the data API checks, you need to be using a supported bank as shown below:

  2. Even if you connected your bank account using your banking app/online banking when you signed up, if this was before 22nd May 2023 you should reconnect you account
