Once you have added your personal and company details, you will be required to complete ID verification. If you are a sole trader/individual, then you can do this yourself. If you are signing up a registered company, then this must be completed by a director (registered on Companies House). If you are a director, then you can complete this yourself, but if not then you will be able to invite a director to complete this step.
Step 1: For registered companies, you will be shown a list of company directors. Select yourself, or the director who you would like to complete ID verification
Step 2: You can then select whether the director you picked is you or not
Step 3: If you are not the director selected, you will need to provide the selected directors´ contact details for them to complete the ID verification steps
Step 4: If you are the director, you will need to provide a copy of your ID (passport, driving licence, or ID card), and a selfie. You’ll be warned in advance if your details provided during sign don’t match that of the director selected. You can choose to continue anyway - fena will just run an extra check in the background to ensure the IDs match
Step 5: From here, the steps are the same for directors and sole traders/individuals. You will need to select which country issued the document and the document type you will upload
Step 6: If starting on desktop, you have an option to continue on mobile if this is preferred e.g. if you need to take a photo of your ID still or don’t have a webcam. To continue on mobile, just select “Continue on your phone” and scan the QR code. Alternatively, upload the documents here
Step 7: Next, you’ll need access to a webcam to take a selfie that will be compared to the ID, and perform a short liveness test. Again, you can switch to mobile here by scanning a QR code, or continue on desktop if you have a webcam.
Top tip: Make sure the room you’re in is well lit - low or poor lighting can cause issues with the ID verification process
Step 8: Once you have completed all the steps, you will be directed to the next step - connecting a bank account. Or, if you are a director who was invited to complete just the ID verification, you can quit when prompted - the user who signed up initially will receive an email to let them know this step is now complete.
